May 2009 – Mountain View, CA – Sisters Suzanna Lee, DDS and Trinh Lee, DDS of Mountain View, California, have achieved Accredited status in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). They join 53 AACD Accredited members in the state of California, 320 dentists and dental laboratory technicians in the history of the AACD who have earned this prestigious designation, and are the first siblings to complete the AACD Accreditation process simultaneously. The highly sought Accreditation credential represents the standard of excellence in cosmetic dentistry. The Lee sisters were awarded Accredited status through the demonstration of advanced skills and knowledge. They were both recognized at the organization’s 25th Anniversary AACD Scientific Session, held in Honolulu, Hawaii, April 27 – May 1, 2009.
“Suzanna and I have always pushed each other to pursue more in our careers and lives. Our relationship is based on collaboration as opposed to competition. So, when we decided to pursue this goal together, it was not a surprise to our family or friends,” said Trinh Lee, DDS.
“It was and is a pleasure to receive this recognition together but in my mind, it was the journey that meant the most to me. My skills have improved and I am so thrilled to bring this level of dentistry to my patients,” said Suzanna Lee, DDS.
Through the AACD’s Accreditation program for dentists and dental laboratory technicians, AACD members must undergo a three-part process consisting of a written examination, submission of clinical cases for evaluation, and an oral examination. Each individual must also attend a series of workshops as part of the program. While each part must be completed in sequence, individuals pursuing Accreditation have up to five years to complete the program after successfully completing the written examination.
