Minimally Invasive Alternative to Traditional Crowns
Have you ever heard of an porcelain inlay or onlay? They are sometimes called “three-quarter crowns,” and they are a great way for Drs. Trinh Lee and Suzanna Lee to refresh and restore your smile without compromising tooth integrity.
The Unique Design in Mountain View
Rather than covering a tooth entirely with a crown, inlays and onlays provide maximum coverage that a filling cannot – all while leaving as much enamel as possible in place. Like a porcelain crown, inlays and onlays are made in a lab – custom fitted to your individual tooth.
Drs. Trinh Lee and Suzanna Lee prefer to use porcelain inlays and onlays when at all possible, as it allows us to:
- Restore severely damaged or decayed teeth that are past the point of filling
- Replace large fillings without full coverage crowns
- Retain as much natural enamel structure as possible
- Rebuild teeth throughout the entire mouth
Your Treatment at Our Bay Area Cosmetic Dentist Office
Inlays and onlays typically require two appointments to complete. After your prep visit, Dr. Trinh or Dr. Suzanna will place a temporary restoration over the tooth to protect it. In two weeks you will return for us to permanently bond your custom designed restoration into place.
