Dental Mission Trip to Vietnam – July 2019

In July of 2019, Dr. Suzanna Lee and Dr. Trinh Lee of Allure Dental Center joined a team consisting of 160+ dental, medical, optometry, and pharmacy professionals from SAP-VN (Social Assistance Program for Vietnam), a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-religious humanitarian organization based in Orange County, CA that provides direct relief to poor and needy people, especially orphans and handicapped children. With SAP-VN, the doctors embarked on a mission trip to Vietnam to provide free medical and dental care to people living in impoverished areas of the country.

Once there, Dr. Suzanna Lee and Dr. Trinh Lee traveled by bus to Dong Giang and Nam Giang provinces, mountainous regions that border the country of Laos. Although the winding roads and 3-hour one-way trips were daunting, the group was rewarded with picturesque scenery and friendly villagers. With the help of a team of enthusiastic youth assistants, the doctors provided both treatment and dental education to area villagers.

Despite facing searing temperatures and high humidity, the volunteers with SAP-VN still managed to treat countless villagers — and have some adventures while they were at it! The group even went on a tour in Hoi An where they tried their hands at some heart-pumping ropes courses. It was a gratifying trip for Drs. Suzanna Lee and Trinh Lee. They are grateful for the opportunity provided by SAP-VN and look forward to more productive mission trips in the future!

Dental Mission Trip to Cambodia December 2018 – January 2019

In late December, Drs. Suzanna Lee and Trinh Lee of Allure Dental Center traveled to the capital city of Cambodia: Phnom Penh. This city is the most densely populated area in the entire country. The doctors were able to rejoin the medical team from International Medical Relief (IMR) and embark on a medical and dental missions trip to provide free medical and dental care to the underserved people living in a village just outside Phnom Penh.

IMR is a registered 501(c)(3) medical organization with NGO status based in the United States. The organization provides mobile medical clinics and sustainable health education to underserved communities in 40 countries worldwide.

Our team was able to examine and screen villagers who needed medical and dental care at a makeshift clinic location. We were fortunate to work with local medical students who volunteered to help translate so our patients could understand the care they needed to receive.

After working together with the team to provide necessary medical and dental care, we were able to visit orphans residing in temples outside of Ho Chi Minh City. It was very rewarding to be able to share food, hygiene items and toys with children during the winter holiday season.

Our mission to Cambodia was another memorable and heartwarming trip. Our doctors are so grateful for the opportunity to provide such necessary help to underserved communities around the world. We express our sincere thanks both to IMR and the Cambodian people who allowed us to be of service.

St. Jude’s Walk To End Childhood Cancer – September 2018

On September 22nd, some of our office team members participated in the St. Jude’s Walk To End Childhood Cancer at the San Francisco Zoo. We were able to raise some money for the event and the walk was quite fun!

Dental Mission Trip to Vietnam Dec. 2017 – Jan. 2018

In late December of 2017, Drs. Suzanna Lee and Trinh Lee of Allure Dental Center ventured again to Vietnam to provide free dental services to people living in impoverished areas. They joined a group of medical and dental professionals from International Medical Relief (IMR), a registered 501(c)(3) medical organization with NGO status based in the United States. IMR provides mobile clinics and health education to underserved communities throughout the world.

Allure Dental Center charity work

Drs. Suzanna Lee and Trinh Lee providing free dental health services in Vietnam with IMR.
Their clinic destination was in rural Tra My. Arriving on a rainy day, the team’s journey was arduous (though the Vietnam scenery was breathtaking). Once arrived, they prepared their make-shift clinic. Many local people signed up and received medical and dental care. Some even had to walk 3 hours through the rainy mountains to get to the clinic.

Drs. Suzanna Lee and Trinh Lee provided dental health services—as well as moral support and comfort—to dozens of patients of all ages. Some needed routine care, while others had more complex needs. The IMR team provided medical healthcare services and shared health education with local families.
Afterwards, Drs. Suzanna Lee and Trinh Lee traveled back to Ho Chi Minh City to visit the orphans at Dieu Giac, Giac An and Ky Quang Temples—just in time for Christmas. Santa came to visit, and Drs. Suzanna Lee and Trinh Lee gifted dental hygiene items and toys, as well. Our Allure Dental Center doctors spent time with the children, many of whom are disabled and need care around the clock.

The IMR team was like a family, and even rang in the New Year together. Work Hard, Play Hard! It was a memorable, heart-felt trip, and Drs. Suzanna Lee and Trinh Lee remain grateful for the priceless opportunity to provide help to the less fortunate around the world. They thank IMR & Vietnam.

Dental Mission Trip to Vietnam – July 2017

In July of 2017, Drs. Suzanna Lee and Trinh Lee joined a Team consisting of medical doctors, dentists and University of California pre-med students (of a non-profit organization called Medical, Educational Missions & Outreach – MEMO) embarked on a two-week missionary trip to Vietnam, with a purpose to provide free medical and dental care to the poor people living in some impoverished provinces of the country.

Classrooms in local schools were used for make-shift clinics, where everything had to be setup from scratch. Hundreds of local people (young and old) came, signed up and waited to get medical and dental care done.

The doctors and their family members visited some 400+ blind people, who assembled at a Buddhist temple in Cai Lay district. They also visited the Orphanage House in suburban area of Ho Chi Minh City, in a temple where the orphans are being raised by nuns. It was a heart-warming experience for the team as they gave out a variety of gifts to these groups.

Our doctors thought the trip was very memorable, heart-felt and rewarding. They really enjoyed meeting all the people who came out, they were extremely friendly, down-to-earth and honest. They are now looking forward to the next mission. Until next time…

Making Strides of Silicon Valley

Each year, our office joins the fight against breast cancer by participating in a charity walk with Making Strides of Silicon Valley. It’s an important annual event for the members of our practice as it builds team spirit and fosters our community involvement. Each event is a noncompetitive 3 to 5-mile walk through the heart of downtown San Jose that brings together anyone who has been touched by breast cancer. In addition to walking as a team, we also donate and raise money for the cause. In past years, Allure Dental Center has designed and ordered custom t-shirts, which we then passed out to 40+ Making Strides participants.
